Semi-hard Cheese Elassona

The Elassona Semi-Hard Cheese is a typical, pale yellow semi-hard cheese, made both from cow’s and sheep and goat’s milk, and is produced in the wider region of Thessaly and central/western Macedonia. The perfect balance between moisture and aridity helps it stand out for its firm texture, pleasant, rich and sweet taste and characteristic aroma. It is free from antibiotics, artificial colourings, additives and genetically modified organisms It is a high quality table cheese. It is widely used as a main ingredient in a number of recipes, such as fondue, pasta, salads and pies. Ideally, the attractive aspects of Elassona Semi-hard cheese are brought out when accompanied by mild or stronger wines.
